Silver Cup October 3-6 Boulder Creek Golf Club-Boulder City /td> North Wins 25 1/2 to 14 1/2

2016 SILVER CUP

The 2016 Silver Cup was held in perfect weather at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, NV. This is the ?? time this event has been held. The format for all 3 days is net match play with the first day format being foursomes (modified alternate shot). Ten points are available the first day with the North capturing 6 of those. The results for day 1 can be found here . The second day format is four-ball or best ball. The North simply killed the South taking 9 of the 10 available points. With the North equalling 15 points and the south equalling 5 points the south winning the cup was going to be an almost impossible task as they would need to win 15 1/2 points of the possible 20 in the singles format on the third day. The higher handicap bracket teed off first giving the South team some hope as they won 7 out of their 10 matches but the lower handicap players just couldn't make it happen. The North team won 8 of the 10 leaving the final score 25 1/2 to 14 1/2. Congratulations to the Northern Nevada Women's Golf Association. A picture of the team can be found here .
